Our service on January 7, 2024 hit on a few subjects, one of which was how you can help your church beyond financial contributions, which is both rewarding and impactful. If you missed the virtual service, you can view it now – https://fb.watch/prSsoMqKw1/.
Here are several ways you can assist:
- Volunteering Time and Skills: Offer your time and skills in areas such as ushering, being a lay reader, coffee hour, flowers, maintenance, administrative tasks, or organizing events. The ways are endless!
- Teaching or Mentoring: If you have knowledge in a specific area, you can offer to teach classes or mentor members of the congregation and/or offer up your talents at Gateway!
- Community Outreach: Participate in Loaves and Fishes, Gateway, or the many other community outreach programs available.
- Prayer and Spiritual Support: Offer to support Bible study groups or provide one-on-one spiritual support.
- Music: Our choir is the best one! If you love music, join either the Chancel or Bell choirs (or both!).
- Hosting or Facilitating Small Groups: Open your home to small group meetings or lead a small group discussion.
- Technical Support: If you’re tech-savvy, assist with the church’s website, audio/visual needs for streaming services, or social media.
- Event Planning: Help plan and organize church events with Congregation Life, from small gatherings to large celebrations.
- Practical Help for Members: Offer help to church members in need, such as transportation or meal preparation. Our Deacons are a wonderful way to learn more.
The best way to determine how you can help is to ask your church leaders where there is the most need. Your contributions, no matter how small, can make a significant difference in the life of our church!
