Meditative Prayer with Scripture – being held at the church by The Rev. Nathaniel Fryer

A LENTEN LECTIO DIVINA (an ancient Christian practice that has been going on for at least 1,600 years). It is a Latin phrase meaning “divine reading” but don’t worry, you don’t have to know Latin to be a  part of Lectio. Lectio Divina is a way of slowing down when reading the Scriptures and engaging the text so that you hear God’s word for you.

Join Us for a Juneteenth Celebration

On Friday, June 19, First Presbyterian Church of Boonton invites the community to gather for an evening of fellowship, food, reflection, and praise as we celebrate Juneteenth.

We’ll begin at 7:00 p.m. on the lawn by the accessible entrance with fried chicken, corn on the cob, and community fellowship. We invite everyone to bring a favorite side dish or dessert to share.

At approximately 8:00 p.m., we will move into the sanctuary where Rev. Nathaniel Fryer will lead a short praise and worship service.

Juneteenth commemorates the day enslaved African Americans in Texas learned they were free and remains a celebration of freedom, faith, resilience, and hope.
